A method for manufacturing a polyester fiber is provided to generate a large quantity of anions and far-infrared rays from the polyester fiber, by mixing anion materials using granulated slag into polyester resin, and to improve health of body by preventing various diseases. An esterification reaction is generated by inputting heated glycol, and melted saturated acid and unsaturated acid into a reactor bath while a temperature of the reactor is maintained in a temperature of 190-200°C. When the esterification reaction is proceeded to obtain polyester resin having an acidic value of no more than 50, the polyester resin is cooled to a temperature of 100-150°C in a cooling bath. Nano-powder type anion-generating granulated slag is added into the cooled polyester resin in a high-speed injection by plasma at a temperature of 150°C. The resultant polyester resin is spun, drawn, and wounded to manufacture a polyester fiber.
