A METHOD OF MANAGING TECHNICAL CHANGE FOR A SHIP DESIGN

A method for constructing a system for managing technical change in designing a ship is provided to construct a manufacturing and designing support system linked with a design program for planning an intellectual asset management criterion and scheme for sharing the design techniques of experienced designers. A method for constructing a system for managing technical change in designing a ship comprises the following several steps. A system inquires of customer information, building specifications, basic drawings, content of technical negotiations, a maker list, wrong examples, related drawings or standard documents and uses the inquired information as basic documents for items, a BOM(Bill Of Materials) and construction of drawings in order to process an ECO(Engineering Change Order). The system constructs drawings like an installation drawing or a manufacturing drawing, and registers drawing numbers and attributes. The system accepts drawings of makers related to the items. The system receives internal approval of the drawings and the attributes. The system requests customer or class approval of detailed design drawings among the internally approved drawings. The system registers item codes, attributes and option codes for changing and constructing options. The system structures the items and registers attributes of the BOM according to permanent or provisional determination for processing the issued ECO.
