AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL APPARATUS FOR TREADMILL AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

An automatic speed control device of a treadmill and a control method for the same are provided to control the speed of a track belt of a treadmill automatically according to user's walking or running speed as the user wants. An automatic speed control device of a treadmill includes front load sensors and rear load sensors(193a,193b). The front load sensors are installed on the front of a track belt(111) to sense the user's position on the track belt. The rear load sensors are installed on the rear of the track belt to sense the user's position on the track belt. The automatic speed control device senses the user's position by comparing the values that are respectively measured by the front load sensor and the rear load sensor, accelerates when the user moves toward the front of the treadmill, and decelerates when the user moves toward the rear of the treadmill.
