A method of growing a moss plant using a moss plant growing system is provided to enable easy practice of cultivation using substantially only branch part and leaf part of sphagnum moss as well as growth of other moss plants and other plants. A method of growing a moss plant using a moss plant growing system is characterized in that: the upper side of an aggregated mass(273) of dried sphagnum(25) which is mounted or fixed to a specified place in a disintegrated state is used as a contact part with a moss plant body; and other parts of the contact part with the moss plant body are in direct or indirect contact with water present beneath the corresponding aggregated mass. One or more slender elongated components of one or more dried sphagnums are installed in a state in which the bottom part of the aggregated mass of the corresponding dried sphagnum is in contact with dried sphagnums. In the moss plant growing system(20), a frame-shaped member(231,232) such as wood, plastic, metal and the like; a water permeable member(233) such as a mesh member; and a concavo-convex member with a through hole(242) are placed on the ground(21).
