METHOD FOR EXTRACTION AND PURIFICATION OF EFFECTIVE COMPONENT FROM AGRIMONIA PILOSA LEDEB AND CRUDE DRUG COMPOSITION CONTAINING EXTRACT THEREOF FOR PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF PIMPLE

A method for extracting and purifying an extract of Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb is provided to obtain effective ingredients of the Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb which shows specific antibacterial effect on Propionibacterium acnes without side effects on human body, thereby being very useful as a prophylactic and therapeutic agent of acne. A method for extracting and purifying an extract of Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb comprises the steps of: (a) crushing Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb into powder having a diameter of 30-600 nanometers; (b) extracting the powder with an aqueous solution of alcohol; (c) after concentrating the alcohol extract, fractionating the concentrate using a mixture solution where n-hexane and water are mixed in a volumetric ratio of 5:1-1:5; (d) eluting the n-hexane fraction through a silica gel column to fractionate it; and (e) concentrating the elution fraction under reduced pressure. An external applying agent composition for preventing and treating acne comprises the extract of the Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb as an effective ingredient. Further, the aqueous solution of alcohol is a methanol aqueous solution or an ethanol aqueous solution.
