POWER SAVE APPARATUS AND MODE CONTROL METHOD USING SMART BATTERY

A power saving apparatus and a mode control method using a smart battery are provided to prevent loss of data due to an unexpected operation stop of a system. A power saving apparatus includes a battery(100), a temperature sensing unit(102), a discharge number measurement unit(104), a current detection unit(106), a storage unit(108), and a control unit(110). The battery supplies power to a potable electronic device. The temperature sensing unit senses a temperature of the battery. The discharge number measurement unit measures the number of discharge of the battery. The current detection unit detects current of the battery. The storage unit stores set values corresponding to the temperature, the discharge number, and the current and mode information corresponding to each of the set values. The control unit controls the electronic device by searching the stored mode information according to the measured values through the temperature sensing unit, the discharge number measurement unit, or the current detection unit.
