APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REMOVAL OF PURIFIED WATER PRE-TREATMENT POLLUTANTS USING IMPREGNATED PELLET TYPE ACTIVATED CARBONS

An apparatus and a method of preparing impregnated activated carbon granules are provided to prepare impregnated activated carbon granules that are capable of adsorbing organic and inorganic matters, maintaining high strength, and removing bivalent cationic components such as Ca^++ and Mg^++, enable the impregnated activated carbon granules to be regenerated, and extend the regenerating cycle of the impregnated activated carbon granules. A method of preparing impregnated activated carbon granules comprises: injecting distilled water into commercial Al(OH)3 to prepare an 1% Al(OH)3 solution and injecting activated carbon granules into the 1% Al(OH)3 solution to impregnate the activated carbon with the 1% Al(OH)3 solution for 30±5 minutes; adjusting a weight ratio of a hydrochloric acid solution to the Al(OH)3 solution-impregnated activated carbon granules to a ratio range of 90±2% to 10±2%; and rotating an impeller at a rotational speed of 10 revolutions per minute to perform an agitating process at room temperature for 180±10 minutes, and performing a drying process at a temperature of 105±2 deg.C for 240±20 minutes.
