ANTIMICROBIAL PROTEIN ISOLATED FROM LARVAE OF MUSCA DOMESTICA AND ITS USE

An antimicrobial peptide is provided to show antimicrobial activity against microorganisms such as Gram positive and negative bacteria, fungi and virus without resistance, thereby being usefully used in various fields such as food, cosmetic, agriculture and (veterinary) medicine. An antimicrobial protein or a functional fragment thereof isolated from larvae of Musca domestica includes an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID : NO. 2. A method for preparing the antimicrobial protein or the functional fragment thereof comprises a step of culturing a transformant transformed by a vector including a nucleic acid encoding the antimicrobial protein or the functional fragment thereof. An antimicrobial composition comprises the antimicrobial protein or the functional fragment thereof.
