METHOD OF MAKING BIODIESEL WITH GOOD LOW-TEMPERATURE PERFORMANCE FROM PALM OIL

A method for making biodiesel with good low-temperature fluidity from palm oil is provided to utilize palm oil cheaper than soybean oil and to apply the biodiesel for industries and environment actively by obtaining the low-temperature fluidity satisfying the domestic and foreign standards. A method for making biodiesel with good low-temperature fluidity from palm oil comprises the steps of: separating palm biodiesel into C16 palm biodiesel and C18 palm biodiesel by distilling palm biodiesel; changing C16 palm biodiesel into C16 palm fatty acid and methanol by hydrolyzing C16 palm biodiesel; and changing C16 palm fatty acid or C16 palm biodiesel into the C15/C16 paraffin mixture by hydrotreating C16 palm fatty acid or C16 palm biodiesel. The palm biodiesel is distilled at the pressure of 5~20 torrs and 180~230°C.
