ASSORTED FEEDSTUFF COMPOSITION CONTAINING CHIA SEED OR ITS EXTRACT, METHOD OF RAISING CHICKEN USING THE SAME, AND CHICKEN MEAT ACQUIRED THEREBY

Assorted feed containing Chia seed or its extract, a method for raising chicken by using the assorted feed, and the chicken are provided to reinforce the digestive organs and circulatory system of chicken and improve its liver function by allowing the chicken to take the dietary fiber and Ћ-3 fatty acid contained in the Chia seed. A poultry feed composition comprises one of Chia seed, Chia cake, and their mixture as a substitute for antibiotics. The poultry feed composition contains 0.84~29wt% of Chia seed, based on the total weight of the composition. The poultry feed composition containing Chia cake and a source of Ћ-3 fatty acid is enriched with dietary fiber at a level of 0.23~8.1wt%(based on the total weight of the composition) and Ћ-3 fatty acid at a level of 40~75wt%(based on the total weight of the dietary fiber). A method for raising chicken comprises supplying the assorted feed to chicken for 5days or more while separately supplying drinking water, wherein the assorted feed contains 1~20g of the Chia seed in feed intake per day. The chicken is low in antibiotics residues and has an improved meat quality.
