A photorefractive dendrimer compound is provided to show the photoconductivity and non-linear optical characteristics in one molecule by introducing a nonlinear chromophore and a carbazole into dendron, thereby solving a problem of stability caused by bad compatibility between a photoconductive material and a chromophore and being applicable to a biological imaging technique. A photorefractive dendrimer compound including a carbazole derivative showing excellent non-linear chromophore and charge transporting characteristic containing a tricyanopyrroline-based electron acceptor is represented by a formula(1), wherein A is a group(1) or a group(2), and R consists of 1-20 carbon(s). A photorefractive device comprises the photorefractive dendrimer compound. A method for preparing the device comprises the steps of: (a) dropping a keyhole shaped indium tin oxide transparent electrode on a glass substrate; (b) after dropping the photorefractive dendrimer compound on the electrode, drying it to remove solvent therefrom and vacuum-drying it; (c) after coupling a spacer to a corner of the dried indium tin oxide glass sample, heating the sample up to a temperature of at least glass transition temperature to push down gradually a second indium tin oxide glass on the sample and cooling it; and (d) sealing the substrate using an epoxy or a polyimide film, attaching the electrode thereto.
