A method for forming a magnetic pattern in a magnetic recording medium, a method for producing a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic pattern forming device, a magnetic recording medium and a magnetic recording device are provided to perform high density recording by applying an external magnetic field to a magnetic layer after locally heating the magnetic layer in the magnetic pattern. A method for forming a magnetic pattern in a magnetic recording medium(101) comprises the steps of: obtaining a recording medium including a magnetic layer, a protective layer, and a lubricant layer formed on a substrate; locally heating the magnetic layer corresponding to the magnetic pattern with energy beams having an energy density variation of 15% or less; and applying an external magnetic field(104) to the magnetic layer. The lubricant layer is obtained by forming a first lubricant layer, which is thinner than a lubricant layer, on the magnetic layer and coating a second lubricant layer on the first lubricant layer, wherein the magnetic pattern is formed on the first lubricant layer before coating the second lubricant layer. A magnetic recording device comprises a driver driving the magnetic recording medium in a recording direction, a magnetic head having a recording portion and a reproducing portion, a moving device moving the magnetic head with respect to the magnetic recording medium, and a recording/reproducing processor supplying a recording signal to the magnetic head and receiving a reproducing signal from the magnetic head.
