METHOD FOR MEASURING POSITIONING BASED ON PORTABLE INTERNET USING RECEIVED SIGNAL STRENGTH AND THE SYSTEM THEREOF

A method and a system for measuring a position based on the portable internet by using received signal strength are provided to increase accuracy of a position calculation when a signal is not sufficiently received from peripheral base stations due to strong signals of a main base station, by calculating the position of a terminal according to the strength of a received signal. A position measuring method based on the portable internet in a portable internet system is composed of steps for making a terminal receive information about peripheral base stations from a main base station if a position measuring request is inputted(300); measuring received signal strength about the main base station and peripheral base stations while scanning the peripheral base stations(310); judging whether the received signal strength of the main base station is over a preset critical value or not(320); and determining the position corresponding to an ID(Identification) of the main base station as the position of the terminal if the received signal strength is over a preset critical value.
