A hybrid truss girder is provided to reduce the quantity of steel required for manufacturing an upper chord and to improve resistance to compressive force by applying a composite structure of steel and concrete on a compressed upper chord. A hybrid truss girder comprises the steps of forming an upper chord(30) as a composite structure composed of a horizontal steel plate(31) and concrete(32) and placing shear reinforcing bars(34) to compose with floor concrete(33). Hereon a steel upper chord is reinforced with compression resistant and inexpensive concrete to cut down on the quantity of steel required for an upper chord and to increase buckling resistance with enlarged radius of gyration and many head studs(35) are attached to the top of the horizontal steel plate to secure the integral action between the horizontal steel plate and the concrete of the upper chord.
