SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM INFORMATION TO SHADOW AREA

A system and a method for transmitting GPS(Global Positioning System) information to a shadow area are provided to enable a user to receive a GPS service even in a GPS shadow area and consume very little power like ZigBee, and improving the portability of a GPS receiver by using a small local communication module. A system for transmitting GPS(Global Positioning System) information to a shadow area comprises the followings: a GPS receiving server(100) which receives GPS signals from at least one GPS satellite(106) and extracts GPS information which can be used in a GPS service from the received GPS signals, and transmits the extracted GPS information based on a preset local communication method; and at least one GPS receiver(102) which receives the GPS information transmitted from the GPS receiving server using the preset local communication method.
