Nano-sized TiO 2 photocatalyst particles are widely used in indoor air purifiers because of their excellent oxidation resistance and antimicrobial properties, as well as volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the air under UV or visible light. However, current TiO 2 nanoparticles have low photoactivity in the visible light region, which accounts for about 60% of sunlight, and thus require development of a new type of photocatalyst having excellent photoactivity in the visible light region. Therefore, the present invention relates to the production of a titania nanotube photocatalyst having a VOC removal ability in air more than twice as much as that of conventional TiO 2 nanoparticles and an excellent VOC removal ability in the visible light region.;According to the present invention, an economical method for producing a highly crystalline nanotube having two or more times higher photoactivity from a conventional titania nanoparticle and a highly crystalline titania nano having increased activity as a photocatalyst having a purification function of a pollutant.
