Method to generate power continuously and to purify folluted water by means of constructing reservoir water space having big capacity higher than bank of river

A method for generating power is provided to store increased volume of water by constructing a multi-step water reservoir at an intermediate area of river such that the water reservoir has a height higher than the height of the bank of river. A power generating system includes water reservoirs(10) having water inlet portions lower than a bank(1) of river, water storage portions higher than the bank of river, and bottom surfaces inclined at the angle identical with the tilt angle of river. Each water reservoir has water channels(20) for flow of water from mountain to river. Water introduced into each water channel flows independently from water in each water reservoir. The water channel formed at the water inlet area of the water reservoir has a door(21) for forming a sub water reservoir(20'). Water collected in each sub water reservoir is introduced into each water reservoir by opening/closing the door. A turbine is installed at an outlet port(11) of the water reservoir, and each outlet port is equipped with a water gate(12) for opening/closing the outlet port. The turbine is connected to a generator.
