A system and a method for monitoring debris flow landslides are provided to minimize damage of the debris flow landslides by quickly and precisely predicting the transfer of earth and sand on a slope and the movement and speed of debris flow in a valley. A measurement unit(110) includes a debris flow detector(112) for detecting movement of a debris flow by using wires installed in a valley along a horizontal direction at an interval, and a debris flow movement observer(114) observing movement of a debris flow layer at an estimate debris flow landslide position. A main logger(120) stores data measured in the debris flow monitor and controls a measurement frequency according to increase/decrease of rainfall measured through an embedded rainfall gauge and rain sensor(122,124). A monitoring server(130) stores the data received from the main logger through a CDMA(Code Division Modulation Access) modem. The debris flow detector detects the debris flow when the wires are cut by the debris flow. The debris flow movement observer observes the movement of the debris flow layer on a base rock layer by using a slope sensor installed between the debris flow layer and a base rock layer.
