A development method of molecular DNA markers associated with meat quantity traits of Korean cow(Hanwoo) is provided to diagnose and screen Korean cows(Hanwoo) having excellent meat quantity degree with regard to live weight, carcass weight and M. longissimus dorsi area from the Korean cow group at an early stage. A development method of molecular DNA markers associated with meat quantity traits of Korean cow(Hanwoo) comprises the steps of: isolating genomic DNA from the blood of Korean cows; amplifying the isolated genomic DNA through PCR(polymerase chain reaction) by using primers containing independently intron 3 and 5 of PPARgamma(peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma) gene; digesting the PCR products with restriction enzymes AccI and N1aIV; developing the digested DNA fragments on agarose gel electrophoresis to determine RFLP(restriction fragment length polymorphism) markers; and deciding SNP(single nucleotide polymorphism) markers associated with live weight, carcass weight and M. longissimus dorsi area through statistical analysis of relation between carcass and meat quality traits of Korean cows.
