An auto pilot method of a ship is provided to enable auto piloting of a special ship such as a large cargo ship or a large ship in consideration of characteristics of the ship. In an auto pilot method of a ship, a rudder angle is adjusted regardless of increase or decrease of a variation in case that the difference between head and target point of the ship is out of a predetermined range. The ship is operated according to the increase or decrease of the difference in case that the difference between the head and the target point is within the predetermined range. The rudder angle of the ship is adjusted by a value obtained through multiplication of the difference and a rudder angle ratio in case that the head of the ship proceeds in a direction of increasing the variation and adjusted into zero in case that the head of the ship proceeds in a direction of decreasing the difference.
