Methods for processing the leaves and bark of Eucommia ulmoides are provided to produce health supplementary foods or tea having the effective ingredients and specific flavor of Eucommia ulmoides by removing gutta-percha and a cork layer from the leaves and bark. A method for processing the leaves of Eucommia ulmoides comprises the steps of: (i) collecting the leaves of Eucommia ulmoides; (ii) cutting the collected leaves into small pieces; (iii) washing the small leaf pieces; (iv) performing the process of drying the washed small leaf pieces and crushing them at least two times; (v) heating and stirring the dried small leaf pieces in a cylindrical heater at 120~200°C for 5~60min to remove gutta-percha; (vi) crushing the heated small leaf pieces in (0.5~1)x(0.5~1)mm; and (vii) heating the pulverized small leaf pieces at a temperature below the boiling point of water in a vacuum to extract geniposide acid from the small leaf pieces. The step (iv) comprises: firstly drying the small leaf pieces in a hot-air dyer at 40~60°C; firstly crushing the firstly dried pieces in (2~4)x(2~4)mm; secondly drying the firstly crushed pieces in a hot-air dryer at 60~80°C; and secondly crushing the secondly dried pieces in (1~2)x(1~2)mm. A method for processing the bark of Eucommia ulmoides comprises the same steps as the method for processing the leaves of Eucommia ulmoides, further including the step of removing a cork layer from the bark before the step (ii).
