ACRYLIC MODIFIED POLYESTER RESIN, METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME AND PAINT COMPOSITION INCLUDING THE ACRYLIC MODIFIED POLYESTER RESIN

A method for preparing an acrylic modified polyester resin, an acrylic modified polyester resin prepared by the method, and a paint composition containing the resin are provided to improve the hardness, contamination resistance and processability of a paint. A method for preparing an acrylic modified polyester resin comprises the steps of polymerizing a polyvalent alcohol comprising 86-96 wt% of a diol and 4-14 wt% of a triol with a polybasic acid by condensation polymerization to prepare a polyester resin; and reacting the obtained polyester resin and an acrylic monomer to prepare an acrylic modified polyester resin having a weight average molecular weight of 16,500-23,000 and a glass transition temperature of 30-50 deg.C.
