Microsatellite markers and their codes for fingerprinting of Korean and Japanese Japonica rice cultivars are provided to improve rapidness and accuracy in discrimination of cultivars, and enhance efficiency of cultivar breeding by developing DNA markers associated with useful traits of rice. The microsatellite markers for fingerprinting of Korean and Japanese Japonica rice cultivars include OSR20S, RM48, RM144, RM206, RM207, RM249, RM257 and RM333, are obtained by amplifying the simple sequence repeat in the rice genome through PCR(polymerase chain reaction), and grant 8 kinds of band proper base pair(bp) or 16 ciphers of proper code to each of Korean and Japanese Japonica rice cultivars through combinations of the microsatellite markers in an ascending order.
