An exhaust gas recirculation system for a V8 type diesel engine is provided to enable easy assembly and replacement work by integrating an EGR valve with an EGR cooler, and to reduce the total weight of the engine, thus reducing costs of a product and improving performance. An exhaust gas recirculation system for a V8 type diesel engine is mounted between left and right cylinder heads of the V8 type diesel engine, and cools some of exhaust gas through both EGR passages according to the amount of unburnt oxygen in the exhaust gas discharged to each exhaust manifold, prior to feeding back the cooled exhaust gas to each intake pipe. The exhaust gas recirculation system includes a cooler unit(100), a valve housing(200), and an EGR valve(300). The cooler unit functions to cool the exhaust gas fed through the EGR passages. The valve housing is integrally mounted to the front portion of the cooler unit and is hollow to define a gas path therein. Two cylindrical valve mounting holes are formed in the center of the upper portion of the valve housing to be coupled to the gas path, and two exhaust holes are formed in the lower end of the center of the front of the valve housing to be coupled to the corresponding valve mounting holes. The EGR valve is mounted to each valve mounting hole to open or close the gas path and each exhaust hole.
