A ground source heat pump apparatus having improved heating performance is provided to allow a heat exchanger for super-cooling to be used only for a heating operation by installing a bypass pipe at the heat exchanger and two check valves at the heat exchanger and the bypass pipe. A ground source heat pump apparatus having improved heating performance comprises a compressor(1) and a 4-way valve(2). The compressor compresses refrigerant gas. The 4-way valve to switch the direction of the refrigerant gas is installed at a pipe through which the compressed refrigerant gas is flowed. A heating and cooling heat exchanger(3) serves as an evaporator for a cooling operation and a condenser for a heating operation. A geothermal heat exchanger(4) serves as a condenser for a cooling operation and an evaporator for a heating operation.
