A kidney-specific gene HMM07 associated with development of kidney cyst is provided to reduce the screening time of kidney-specific gene by using an Audic-Claverie test based on EST(expressed sequence tag) or RT-PCR(reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction), and rapidly diagnose and treat development of kidney cyst. A mammal-derived HMM07 protein associated with development of kidney cyst has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, and is expressed specifically to the kidney and used as a target for therapeutic drugs of kidney cyst. A kidney-specific gene HMM07 has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1. A recombinant vector contains the kidney-specific gene HMM07 of SEQ ID NO:1. A transformant is produced with the recombinant vector. A microarray for diagnosis of development of kidney cyst contains the kidney-specific gene HMM07 of SEQ ID NO:1 or an antibody against a kidney-specific HMM07 protein.
