A method for preparing hyaluronic acid hydrogel nanoparticles is provided to obtain chemically crosslinked hyaluronic acid hydrogel nanoparticles showing high skin absorption capability and high water swelling degree. To prepare chemically crosslinked hyaluronic acid hydrogel nanoparticles, a surfactant dissolved oily phase and an aqueous phase where hyaluronic acid and a water-soluble crosslinking agent are dissolved in a basic aqueous solution, wherein the oil is at least one selected from the group consisting of cetyl ethylhexanoate(CEH), dodecane and heptane, the surfactant is at least one selected from the group consisting of cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone, sorbitan sesquioleate and polyethylene glycol (30) dipolyhydroxy stearate, the water-soluble crosslinking agent is a bis-epoxide such as butylene glycol diglycidyl ether(BDG) or polyethylene glycol diglycidyl ether(PEGDG) and a mixture ratio of the oil phase and the aqueous phase is 1:1-7:3. Further, a weight of the hyaluronic acid is 2 to 5 wt.% based on basic aqueous solution.
