METHOD FOR EFFICIENT PREPARATION OF GINSENG EXTRACT CONTAINING HIGH LEVEL OF RED GINSENG-SPECIFIC SAPONIN

A method for efficiently preparing ginseng extract having a high content of red ginseng-specific saponin by treating ginseng in a high temperature and high pressure liquid solvent is provided to control the concentration of the red ginseng-specific saponin quite freely and to manufacture the red ginseng-specific saponin. Ginseng is treated with a high temperature and high pressure liquid solvent for 30 to 50min to extract saponin. The liquid solvent is obtained by heating ethanol at 190 to 240deg.C and 1 to 10MPa. The ginseng extract contains more than 90% of ginsenoside Rg3, based on ginseng total saponin. The saponin extract is selected from the group consisting of ginsenoside Rg3, ginsenoside Rg2 and protopanaxatriol.
