FIELD: engineering of technical vision systems, possible use for increasing precision of information received from video cameras of binocular technical vision system.;SUBSTANCE: method for calibrating binocular technical vision system and for automatic correction of raster images due to production of calibrating template images and their following processing with an adjusting software, which determines presence of images of adjusting object on image matrix of each camera and analyzes resulting images using threshold method. Calibrating template contains two identical images including central point element, horizontal and vertical rectangular elements, and also centered circular element, before production of calibrating template images, recognition of defects, introduced to images by video cameras of binocular system, is performed, after production of images of calibrating template, manual calibration of system cameras and automated computation of image distortions introduced by remainder errors of calibration, - progressive movement of image center relatively to matrix center, angle of image rotation relatively to axes of image matrix, angle, setting compression direction and image compression coefficient, produced on matrix, then found defects, introduced to images by video cameras, and computed progressive movement of image center, image rotation angle, compression direction setting angle, and image compression coefficient are used for correction of resulting images to exclude distortions caused by remaining errors of calibration.;EFFECT: increased precision of graphical information, received from binocular technical vision systems by considering defects, introduced by video cameras of system into images, and also by excluding distortions, caused by remainder errors of calibration, from resulting images.;7 dwg
