The upper boundary of the mentioned range is a curve of complete water saturation of the soil pores (Sr), and the lower boarder is a curve for water saturation of Sr =0.9, passing through points, ordinates of which correspond to maximum density of dry soil, and the abscissa correspond to optimum moisture for different values of the compression action on the soil.
