FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: objective of the invention is to design a method and control system, which take into account all background components, characterising natural alpha-decay of uranium-235, and eliminate the complementary error of measurements related to instability of the characteristics of the detection units. The method of controlling mass fraction of the uranium-235 isotope in gas-phase uranium hexafluoride involves measuring, in a chosen time interval, intensity of gamma-radiation of uranium-235, temperature and pressure of the gas-phase uranium hexafluoride, continuously flowing through a measuring chamber and calculation of the mass fraction of the uranium-235 isotope. Measurement of intensity of gamma-radiation is done using a digital gamma-spectrometric system based on a semiconductor detector from ultra pure germanium. The intensity of the gamma-radiation of the basic analytical peak of uranium-235 with energy 185.7 keV in the energy interval ±(1.8 ÷5) of the full width of the peak at half the peak level relative its centroid, is determined from calculation.;EFFECT: elimination of complementary errors in measurements.;3 cl, 2 dwg
