FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to silver-based catalysts and methods of their production for electrochemical processes. Method of alloying for silver-based catalyst production includes melting of mixture containing silver and magnesium, alloy casting to metal casting mold and ingot cooling. Mixture containing 75÷95% mass of magnesium contains at least one element of 2-4 groups of Periodic table. Mixture melting, alloy casting and ingot cooling are performed under flux in insulating gas medium. Method of silver-based catalyst production includes silver and magnesium alloy production, ingot cooling, magnesium leaching, washing and drying. Silver-based catalyst contains in addition at least one element of 2-4 groups of Periodic table and consists of pored particles sized to 150÷200 mcm, pore size is from 0.005 to 15.0 mcm, value of specific surface is 10÷45 m2/g and apparent density is 0,3÷0,9 g/cm3.;EFFECT: simplified technology of alloying for catalysts production with improved structural performance and operating characteristics.;11 cl, 2 dwg, 1 ex
