FIELD: engines and pumps.;SUBSTANCE: gas turbine engine contains a suction section, an exhaust section aligned with the latter and pulsed detonation system (12) arranged between the said two sections. The pulsed detonation system is configured so as to ensure a temperature and pressure increase inside the aforesaid engine and its thrust. The said system incorporates a pulsed detonation afterburner operating in the multi-stage conditions and containing a predetonation chamber. The predetonation chamber operation comprises, at least, the first operating stage whereat the fuel-air mix is fed therein, its quantity being lower that stoichiometric one. The afterburner also includes, at least, the second operating stage whereat a stoichiometric fuel-air mix is fed into the said afterburner chamber.;EFFECT: production of an optimum thrust low fuel consumption high-efficiency gas turbine engine.;10 cl, 3 dwg
