Inosine is obtained by means of fermentation method which includes growing becteria - producents of inosine in nutritional medium and its isolation from culture broth. As producents mutant strains of bacteria Bacillus subtilis " ВКПМ-8998" and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens "ВКПМ-9789" are used, which are resistant to inhibition of growth by 3,4-dehydro-DL-proline.
