The device has a twist-beam rear axle (2) with a damper (7) that is hinged at a body (6) and the rear axle, where the axle has two longitudinal arms connected by a transverse profile (8). Ends of the arms have a suspension (4) in the body and a suspension (5) of a rear wheel (1) of a motor vehicle. A transverse profile (8) is arranged in front of the suspension (5) in a driving direction of the vehicle. The damper is inclined in the driving direction based on linkage to the rear axle, where the damper is inclined at an angle of about 10 degrees.
