The circuit has a magnetic field sensor for detecting dimension of the arising scattering field in an electromagnetic component. An adjacent evaluation unit is connected with an output for outputting a signal for accepting a switching status. Another output is provided for displaying an air gap between a magnetic coil and an armature of the electromagnetic component. Switching status of the component is determined with current feed based on a height of the scattering field, which is produced by a direct current of the magnetic coil in dependence to a permissible current range.
