The method involves fastening a guide rail (14) to a carrying structure (11) opposite to a carriage (18) to be moved. A path of the guide rail fastened to the carrying structure is processed such that the carriage moves along a measuring direction. The processing of the path includes sliding of the path, where the path is milled before sliding the path. The guide rail is welded or soldered to the carrying structure or at the carriage.
