The circuit (100) has an inductive unit (110) e.g. transfer inductor, connected with a piezo-electric unit (120), where the piezo-electric unit is charged and/or discharged by the inductive unit. Semiconductor switches (115a, 115b) for alternatively connecting/separating of the inductive unit with/from circuit nodes (130a, 130b) having a reference potential are connected with the inductive unit that includes a controllable inductance. The inductive unit is formed from two inductive components, which are connected in parallel or series to each other. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a capacitive unit e.g. piezo-electric unit of an actuator of a motor vehicle.
