The device has a stick corpus connected with a base sided wheel and a handle, and a steering gear for self-rotation of the stick corpus between the wheel and the handle. A sensor unit e.g. camera, is coupled with a steering wheel and a drive for the wheel such that the wheel is driven after coming around an unobstructed path. A storage battery is provided in the stick corpus for provision of the sensor unit and an electric motor for the wheel. The drive is provided with a turn-off device during exceeding of a maximum tilting angle of the stick corpus.
