The tool (1) has honing stone retainers (17, 19), and an adjusting device (21) for adjusting diameter of the honing tool within an area of the honing stone retainers. An interface (3) connects the honing tool with a machine spindle, an adapter, or an intermediate piece. An electromechanical drive unit (29) is integrated in the honing tool for manipulating the adjusting device. The drive unit includes an electric motor (31) and a drive that is coupled with the electric motor. An independent claim is also included for a method for the finished honing of drillings in a workpiece.
