The machine has a working medium inlet to a working chamber of the machine, an inlet valve with a valve body that controls or regulates the flow of working medium. The inlet valve has first and second valve body switching positions in which the valve exposes first and smaller second flow cross-sections for the medium respectively. The positions are set automatically depending on the pressure of the medium in the inlet valve and on the pressure difference across it. An independent claim is also included for a drive train, especially for a motor vehicle.
