The test stand (1) has an electrical loading machine (4) for reproducing a wheel of a motor vehicle. A simulation device (5) simulates characteristics of the motor vehicle and determines a target torsional moment (MS) for controlling the electrical loading machine under consideration of a braking torque (MB). A drive supporting system (11) is reproduced with an impact on a brake of the wheel, and the braking torque is determined by a brake demand of the drive supporting system to brake the wheel. An independent claim is also included for a method for checking the performance of a power transmission of a motor vehicle.
