The device has an adjustment assembly for adjusting a length of a band and carried by a part of the band. The assembly is provided with a cable (3) connecting the part with another part (2), and a thumb wheel (4) activating adjustment of the band length by a wearer. An adjustment pulley (5) is integrated to the thumb wheel and fixed to one end of the cable, where a part of the cable is wound around the pulley. The pulley has fins associated with notches of a body (6) locking rotation of the pulley in an adjustment position.
