The meter has a measuring channel (1) for passage of a medium. A pair of ultrasonic transducers (2, 3) transmits and receives ultrasonic signals. A pair of reflectors (4, 5) is arranged in the channel for conducting the ultrasonic signals from one of the transducers to another transducer, where the diameter of the channel is reduced for guiding the flow of the medium by a measuring channel ring (7). The ring is formed by a measuring insert that is arranged and/or integrated in a measuring channel inner wall (6), where the insert acts as a retainer or fixation for functional parts.
