The method involves introducing a test body (9), by which a test layer (13) is introduced directly on a base (11) in a cleaning liquid (3) contained in the ultrasonic bath (1). The removal of the test layer from test body is evaluated. The application of the test layer is carried out by external currentless or galvanic separation or by a combination of external currentless or galvanic separation. The layer thickness and the homogeneity is checked, after the application of the test layer, in order to obtain a reproducible test body. An independent claim is also included for a test body for the execution of the method for determining the cleaning action by cavitations in ultrasonic bath.
