The device has an electric motor (4) with a transmission adjacent to the motor integrated in a housing. A controller (28) is inserted in an internal casing on a side, which faces a bearing of a winding core, in a longitudinal central bore of the internal casing. An impulse generator (39) is provided over a sensor (40) that is arranged on the printed circuit board for path measurement of a rolling shutter. The impulse generator and the sensor are in connection with the controller such that the controller communicates a position of the rolling shutter.
