The method involves obtaining parameters for determining a direction of over current by tapping parametric factors from a current transformer. A current path is tapped from a secondary winding, at which a resistance and a voltage distributor are connected in parallel with two resistances in series. A transformer terminal generates a positive potential and a negative potential in order to provide a voltage for recognizing forward or reverse direction of flow of energy.
