The pump has a hydraulic diaphragm drive with a piston (15) that is longitudinally displaced in a direction of a diaphragm. The piston interacts with a piston working compartment (16) with its lower face facing the diaphragm, and is displaced by a preset distance in a direction of the membrane. The compartment has a bottom surface (20), where the piston abuts with a lower face (34) against the bottom surface during movement of the piston inside the compartment so that the piston reaches a lower dead point when contacting the bottom surface.
