The hammer (3) has a hammer body (1) and a hammer handle (2) with a handle area (5,6,G). The end fitting (14) is attached at the free end of the hammer handle and is arranged on the longitudinal axis of the hammer handle. The end fitting is connected over a section with the hammer handle by a fastening medium aligned transverse to the longitudinal axis (x) and is enforcing the hammer handle.
