The rig (1) has a bearing for a vehicle tire (4) tested in a shifting position opposite to a test surface (2), where the tire is pressable in a radial direction against the test surface. A tire axle and the test surface are angle-variable relative to each other in its common plane from the parallel position. A sensor (8) e.g. optical-mouse-sensor, is arranged within the test surface, where a surface of the sensor is aligned with the test surface. The sensor is operated for the real time determination of slip movement of a tread profile according to the principle of the surface recognition.
